Melton Campus Athletics Carnival

Melton students swapped the classroom for the athletics track on Thursday for the 2024 Melton Athletics Carnival.

The day kicked off with our Year 12 cohort, who took to the track one last time to showcase their colourful costumes in the traditional farewell parade.

Competitors from each House then vied for top spot in various track, field and novelty events throughout the day. While the overall results are yet to be revealed, the real competition came at the close of the day when students took on their teachers in a Students vs Staff 100m Race.

While some competitors opted for a more leisurely jog, the front-runners left it all on the track, sprinting to a photo finish.

Despite a phenomenal effort from students, Health and Physical Education teacher Jesse Sciberras claimed victory.

House spirit remained high throughout the day (as did the sun!), with staff and students alike wearing accessories in their house colours and cheering each other on from the sidelines.

Congratulations to all students who participated in this year’s event and thank you to all staff who attended. The winners of the 2024 Melton Athletics Carnival Cup, House Spirit Shield and House MVPs will be announced during the next campus assembly.
