In the Midst of Winter
Lord, In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce remind us of the warmth of your love.
In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
In the midst of Winter, when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when leaves are off the trees, and the world can seem bleak remind us that all seasons have their place in your plan and warmer days are a short time away.
And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of winter, reach out to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul.

On Monday, Marlene Jorgensen, our new Principal for 2020 visited CRC Melton for the first time.
Staff welcomed Marlene at morning tea, and then we had a school tour where we met informally with many students and staff.
Parents will have an opportunity to meet Marlene later on in the year.
Marlene was very complimentary about our school, the warmth of greeting from staff and students, and the facilities on offer for our students.
For further information regarding our new Principal, refer to the attached letter from Bishop Mark Edwards.

Mid -Year Exams
Year 10 and Year 11 VCE students are only required to attend school for exams as no classes will operate. However, there will be supervised study rooms available.
As stated in last week's newsletter, Year 11 students will start their Unit 2 studies in the last week of term and Semester Two electives for Years 9 & 10 will begin in Term 3. Years 7 & 8 Art/Technology rotations will also occur at the start of Term 3. All students in Years 7 – 10 will be given a new timetable at the start of Term 3 and can access this via SIMON from 14th July.
Work Experience - Monday 24th - Friday 28th June
We wish our Year 10s the best next week. This experience is always valuable as it either reinforces that the pathway is the correct one or tells them that maybe it is not their best pathway option. Either way it assists when our Year 10 students choose their 2020 VCE/VCAL pathways and subjects next term.
Last Day of Term 2 and Buses
Our College will finish classes on Friday 28th June at 2:30pm. Please note the following information regarding bus service pick-ups for next Friday, 28th June. All Bacchus Marsh Coaches will arrive basically an hour earlier to accommodate the 2:30pm finish but not our Sita Town bus services.
Semester 2 Subject / Electives Changes
Changes to Semester Two electives and subjects have now closed.
Staff PL Day
The College will be running a Professional Learning day on Monday, 24th June. This is a student free day. Staff will be involved with training as part of the College Resilience Project.

Year 7 Girls Volleyball Grand Final
Last Wednesday 12th June we held the Year 7 Girls Volleyball grand final here at school in our Sheehan Sports Stadium. Our Year 7 team, coached by Miss Segrave, competed against Caroline Chisholm to gain the winning title of Year 7 Premiers. Our girls were very excited to compete in their first secondary school grand final. It was a fantastic game played between both schools and one of the most skilful and advanced games we have seen at a Year 7 level which showcased the girls talents, set plays and tactics. It was an intense 5 set match played between the girls. A huge congratulations to the girls making it through the whole season undefeated. The final scores and the girls involved are listed below.
