Athletics Carnival

Melton and Cobblebank students swapped the classroom for the athletics track on Thursday to compete in the first annual Athletics Carnival as St Francis Catholic College.

The day began with our Year 12 cohort who took to the track one last time, showcasing their creative costumes in a parade rivalling New York Fashion Week (Kendall Jenner who?).

Competitors from each House then vied for the top spot in various track, field and novelty events. But despite their valiant efforts, Glowrey had them “green” with envy, claiming the title with 1168.5 points followed closely by Bakhita (1100) and MacKillop (1062.5).

House spirit remained high throughout the day (as did the sun, much to everyone’s relief) with staff and students alike wearing accessories in their House colours and cheering each other on from the sidelines.

St Francis’ new House marquees were also revealed for the first time along with banners bearing their mascots.

Congratulations to all students who participated in this year’s event and thank you to all staff and parents/guardians who attended!
