Student's Greatest Shave

A huge crowd joined Year 11 student Camryn on the green last Thursday to watch her get the biggest haircut of her life as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

Joined by friends, family, staff and fellow students, Camryn smiled bravely as section by section of her hair was snipped away before clippers tidied up her new look.

We are so proud Camryn’s efforts – you can read her words of thanks below.

“Two hundred days ago I decided to sign up to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation. I wanted to donate my hair to young kids who have been diagnosed with cancer and have lost their hair as a result of chemotherapy.

“I have managed to raise $2712 so far, which will support individuals and families who are affected by this disease.

“I am extremely grateful to all the amazing people who generously donated and supported me during this campaign. We’ve raised enough money to fund three months of laboratory costs for a research project to discover better treatments for blood cancer enough funds to enable families to attend support programs that are specific to their blood cancer.

“This would not have been possible without you, so thank you!

“My fundraising page will be active until 1 August for any last-minute donations. Once again, a very special thank you to everyone for supporting me and for your generosity.”
