Haircut for a Cause – Melton Campus

On 6 September, our teacher, Mrs Natalie Bourke, chopped her hair off to raise awareness for the Cancer Council.

Cancer Council Australia is a national nonprofit organisation that aims to promote cancer-control policies and to reduce the illness caused by cancer in Australia. It is also the only charity that works across every area of cancer, from research to prevention and support.

Before the haircut, we helped Mrs Bourke plait her hair and set up near the canteen.

Students could donate a gold coin at the BBQ held the day before for the chance to cut off a plait. Mrs Bourke drew names from a box, and many students gathered around to see her haircut. She raised $100 for the Cancer Council and looks amazing with her new hairdo!
