Wise and compassionate God, help us to be willing to respond to the needs of refugees and asylum-seekers and not simply seek to shift the burden of care onto others. Call our leaders to justice, generosity and compassion. Help them create and implement strategies that are fair and just and treat refugees and asylum-seekers with dignity and care.
O God, our comforter, we ask you to comfort the broken-hearted and protect the vulnerable. We pray for those who are in detention at this time, and for those who face removal to an uncertain future. We pray for those who struggle to buy food and to find secure housing. And for those experiencing stress and mental anguish. We ask you to assure them of your great love, surround them with your presence and fill them with your peace.
Amen.

African Student Conference
On Tuesday, the College hosted the 2019 African Student Conference and students from Melton Secondary College, Mount Alexander College, Staughton College, Kurunjang Secondary College and Hampton Park Secondary College joined us in celebration of African culture.
The aim of the African Student Conference was to inspire and engage African Australian students in their educational pursuits and career opportunities. It showcased community leaders who have been successful in the fields of art, sport, science, law and health to build capacity and strengthen cohesion amongst the African Australian community.
Special guests included MLA for Melton Steve McGhie and Melton Mayor, Bob Turner. Principals and school representatives from several schools were also present. It was a celebration, an affirmation and a positive day overall for our African students and all involved.
Special mention to Rob Blackley, Mollie Daphne and Simma Maiel for organising the day.

Catholic Regional College Melton presents Little Shop of Horrors. "Seymour, an orphan and a nerd, is taken in and given a job by Mr. Mushnik, the owner of a run down florist in the seedy part of town. Seymour spends his time doing menial tasks and dreaming of the shop assistant, Audrey. One day, just after an eclipse of the Sun, Seymour discovers a strange plant. He buys it and names it Audrey II. While caring for Audrey II, Seymour discovers the plant's rather unique appetite. The plant grows and grows, as does Seymour's infatuation for Audrey, but who will get her first? FEED ME!"
Rehearsals are well underway and everything is shaping up for an amazing performance season in the Performing Arts Centre on Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July 2019.
Tickets are now on sale and available through the TryBooking website. Make sure you book group tickets early to ensure you are all seated together.
