Peter addressed Cornelius and his household:
‘The truth I have now come to realise,’ he said, ‘is that God does not have favourites, but that anybody of any nationality who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to him.
It is true, God sent his word to the people of Israel, and it was to them that the good news of peace was brought by Jesus Christ - but Jesus Christ is Lord of all men, and he has ordered us to proclaim this to his people and to tell them that God has appointed him to judge everyone, alive or dead. It is to him that all the prophets bear this witness: that all who believe in Jesus will have their sins forgiven through his name.’

Year 12 Farewell
Our thoughts and prayers are with our Year 12 students and their parents as they conclude their time at CRC Melton this week.
To mark this important time, the College has three annual rituals:
1. Year 12 Breakfast and ‘Dress up morning’ on Friday 18th October
2. Graduation Mass in Sheehan Stadium on Friday 18th October at 7pm
3. Valedictory Dinner on Friday 22nd November at Ultima Receptions
I look forward to this exciting time for the College.

2020 Subject Selections
Thanks to all families in supporting their students with their 2020 subject selections. Initial Year 11 subject allocations will be sent home this week and changes will need to be finalised by Friday 25th of October. Families need only to return forms to the Office if requesting a change. Please note that only students whose families have completed 2020 re-enrolment and 2019 levy payments will be given their confirmation letter.
Current Year 9 students will be interviewed over the coming weeks to finalise their Year 10 electives for 2020. Once this has been completed, Year 8 students will be followed up for their Year 9 electives.
Year 12 Farewell
This Thursday, 17th of October is the last day of formal Year 12 classes. On Friday, 18th of October, we look forward to our annual Year 12 Farewell Breakfast and Dress-up. Later that evening, we will hold our Year 12 Graduation Mass. VCE students then begin SWATVAC until Tuesday 29th of October; with VCAA Exams beginning on Wednesday 30th of October.

"It’s amazing how one night helping those in need can change the way you view certain things in life. It’s such an awesome feeling knowing you’ve helped make a change in someone’s day and watch their face light up from giving something as small as a toothbrush."
On Friday evening, Year 12 students Adelaide Hansen, Georgia Campbell, Bryanna Hickey, Dylan Hassan, Shanae Galakos and Alaina Craig accompanied by Nerida Thurn went out on the last St Vincent de Paul Street Retreat for the year. The night was an eye opening one, where students learnt about the scope of the Vinnie's Soup Van, had the opportunity to speak with seasoned "vannies" and most importantly lend an ear, a hand or offer food and toiletries to those experiencing homelessness in and around Melbourne.
The dedication of the Year 12 students and staff this year to the Soup Van experience has been incredible. Each group of students has learnt something about themselves, as well as the stories of people they have served, and selflessly gave their time despite the rigours of senior school. The thoughts and learnings of the final group to experience Soup Van are below:
"I wasn’t really sure what to expect or what I was expecting before the night, but it was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences. The impact that helping someone or even just talking to them has, just puts things into perspective and changes the way that I see things."
"It was a very eye opening experience that I will never forget."
"To meet and supply goods to the homeless was extremely enlightening."
"It was an experience you cannot describe. It makes you so grateful and privileged for the life you live."
"This experience really impacted the way I view society, and how lucky I am for the things I take for granted."
This year's groups have been receptive, engaged and respectful with glowing reports from "vannies" regarding their conduct. Well done Soup Van team!
